Erin Andrews to Cry on Oprah's Shoulder on 9/11

The date is correct. On the 8th anniversary of 9/11, Erin Andrews will be making her first comments about the infamous hotel tape to Oprah Winfrey. Sports Illustrated’s Richard Deitsch broke the story late this afternoon.

Erin returns to ESPN for Thursday Night Football this week where she will be on the sidelines for the South Carolina-NC State game (not a good place to come back, not Raleigh which is lovely, but a college football game where the students will be all over her).

As much as I sympathize with Erin over what happened, I’m not liking the choice to go on the manhating Oprah show. I’m not an Oprah lover to begin with and I find her hypocritical, but Erin will find a sympathetic audience.

I also find the choice of venue rather strange, but again, Erin is looking to branch out from the normal sports audience who’s very familiar with her. Unless I get a TV, I’ll have to wait for the YouTube clips to watch.

According to Deadspin, the show has already been taped.

So again, Erin will be on the Oprah Winfrey show on September 11 to give her first public comments about the nude hotel room video.
