The Latest on McCain-Obama

This is the first of several political posts today.

The very last Harris Interactive Poll has Obama leading McCain, 52-44 percent. Of course, as we have been told, the national polls don’t mean anything, it’s the polls in the battleground states that that tell us the trends.

The latest CNN Electoral Map estimate has Obama taking as many as 291 Electoral Votes over McCain’s 157. If that holds, Obama would become the 44th President as he would be over the required 270.

In my native Rhode Island, there has already been an incident of a polling place closing due to the discovery of suspicious white powder.

However, overall people have been lining up to vote nationwide which is a good thing.

We’ll keep an eye on things. Should any exit polling data be released by the media consortium around 5 p.m., you’ll see it here.
