Game 3

NEW YORK – June 17, 2013 – NBC Sports Group continued its exclusive coverage of the Stanley Cup Final tonight with NHL Live on NBC Sports Network from 7-8 p.m. ET, followed by game coverage at 8 p.m. ET.

Emmy Award-winner Mike ‘Doc’ Emrick (play-by-play), Eddie Olczyk (analyst) and Emmy Award-winner Pierre McGuire (Inside-the-Glass analyst) called the game from TD Garden in Boston, Mass.

At 7 p.m. ET, NHL Live began coverage from TD Garden. NHL Live was hosted by Liam McHugh, who was joined by analysts Mike Milbury and Keith Jones. In addition to pre-game analysis, Jeremy RoenickDarren Pang and McGuire conducted an on-ice segment on the play of Boston Bruins G Tuukka Rask.

NHL Live (7-8 p.m. ET)

Jeremy Roenick on Tuukka Rask – “To beat Tuukka Rask, you better start praying.”

Mike Milbury on the amount of ice time Patrick Sharp and Patrick Kane had during Game 2 – “In my mind Patrick Sharp was the best forward. He was a threat every time he was on the ice. When you have players as good offensively as Kane and Sharp, you have to let them do their thing. Let the players play. These guys (Sharp and Kane) should be out there more in this particular game. They are the guys who are the most likely to score a goal. And a goal is what Chicago needed in Game 2.”

Keith Jones on Sharp and Kane – “Joel Quenneville missed one in the 2nd Period (Game 2). Especially with Patrick Sharp, because he was flying in the 1st Period.

Game (8 p.m. ET)

First Period

Eddie Olczyk on the Blackhawks: “For the Blackhawks to gain some confidence, and for them to win the Stanley Cup, I believe Jonathan Toews has got to get on the board. Not only assist wise, but goal wise as well”

Doc Emrick on Blackhawks F Patrick Kane and Bruins F Brad Marchand: “Marchand is 5’9, Kane is about the same, and if you were a school teacher you would not let them sit next to each other.”

First Intermission

Milbury on the Blackhawks inability to convert on the power play: “They look just the same. The personnel choices have been just the same, and the result has been just the same. ”

Second Intermission

Keith Jones on Bergeron: “The third line has been good, but the Bergeron line has been outstanding. Lead by Patrice Bergeron, the most intelligent player in the National Hockey League.”

Third Period

Emrick on the Bruins: “The statistical department was won by the Bruins in almost every category, except perhaps turnovers.”

Olczyk on the Blackhawks: “Just a lot of one and done efforts from the Blackhawks tonight.”

Post-Game

Milbury on Bruins Daniel Paille, Chris Kelly and Tyler Seguin: “This is a line that is to be reckoned with. Chicago does not know how to deal with them. They were worried about the first two lines, now they have to be worried about this third creation of Claude Julien that has come back to haunt them.”

That will do it.
