Rebecca Lowe to Make Her NBC Olympics Debut in Sochi

This from NBC Sports, English Premier League host Rebecca Lowe will branch out to sports other than soccer for the first time and become a weekday and weekend daytime host for NBCSN in Sochi come February.

Lowe has been a solid host for NBC/NBCSN’s EPL coverage since The Group began airing games back in August. She told Sports Illustrated’s Richard Deitsch that this will be her first Olympics assignment and will begin cramming for her assignment right away. During her time with BBC Sport, Setanta Sports and ESPN UK, Lowe has exclusively covered soccer and this will signify her first branch out beyond English football.

Expect Lowe to do her usual solid hosting job in Sochi.

Also going to Russia as hosts will be Dan Patrick who will be seen on NBCSN and NBC News’ Lester Holt who will be on NBC’s daytime coverage.

Patrick was on NBC’s Vancouver coverage for just one weekend and in London. Holt has been on NBC Olympics coverage since 2004.

Fang’s Bites has learned that Michelle Beadle who was in London last year will not be a part of the Sochi team.

Here’s the press release.
