Dan Patrick's Big Announcement Live Blog, Part 1

12:30 p.m. – We access ESPN Radio.com to get ready to listen to Dan’s Big Announcement.

12:35 p.m. – Have to return after accidentally exiting from the streaming player.

12:54 p.m. – Colin Cowherd mentions Dan Patrick is next and refers to the Big Announcement.

1:00 p.m. – Phone call comes in and I have to rush the person off the phone.

1:04 p.m. – Dan comes on live from San Francisco at the All Star Game.

1:05 p.m. – Dan teases his Big Announcement.

1:06 p.m. – Dan acknowledges that he decided to make a big announcement and says he decided to take some time off. Confirms that he did not audition for “The Price Is Right.” Says he did not mean to make the announcement so dramatic, but he says he has some mixed emotions about it, but overall, is happy about it. And then says he’ll make the announcement at 2 p.m. ET. Jerk. Of course, he’ll make it when Keith Olbermann joins him.
