Local Coverage of the 2013 NHL Stanley Cup Final

With the Boston Bruins and the Chicago Blackhawks set to do battle for hockey’s ultimate prize in North America, I figured I would provide the coverage in the local markets. I have the plans for the Comcast SportsNet affiliates in both cities as well as for NESN in Boston. As you’re aware, Comcast SportsNet Chicago is the flagship for the Blackhawks and NESN is the flagship for the Bruins. Comcast SportsNet New England is also providing coverage latching onto parent NBC Sports Group and also using its own reporters as it has throughout this playoff run.

This is a long post. Get ready to scroll. Lots of stuff to go through. I’ll do this by market size so Chicago will go first.

Here’s what Comcast SportsNet Chicago will do throughout the Final. CSN Chicago will provide coverage weaving the Blackhawks in between live Cubs and White Sox games. And they’ll even cover morning skates! All times listed in the Comcast SportsNet Chicago press release are Central.
