NESN is All Over The Beanpot Tournament

Starting Monday, NESN will air the annual college hockey tournament known as The Beanpot. It always features Boston College, Boston University, Harvard University and Northeastern University. It’s one of the best sports events in the Boston scene every year. Red Sox voice Don Orsillo will call the event along with Bruins analyst Andy Brickley. We have the details.

NESN’S COVERAGE OF THE 59TH ANNUAL BEANPOT HOCKEY TOURNAMENT BEGINS ON MONDAY, FEBRUARY 7th AT 5 PM

BOSTON, MA –For the 9th consecutive year, NESN, New England’s most watched sports network, will deliver live and exclusive high definition coverage of the 59th annual Beanpot Hockey Tournament beginning on Monday, February 7th. The first game pits Harvard against Northeastern at 5:00 PM followed by Boston University battling Boston College at 8:00 PM from the TD Garden. NESN’s coverage of the Beanpot championship game on Monday, February 14th will begin with Prelude to A Championship, a live, half-hour pre-game show starting at 7:30 PM.

Don Orsillo and Andy Brickley will call all three games with Kathryn Tappen and Bob Beers teaming up to host Prelude to a Championship and intermission coverage from NESN’s Garden studio.  Naoko Funayama will serve as the rink-side reporter contributing pre-game, intermission and post-game interviews.

“The Beanpot is one of the jewels on the New England sports calendar,” said Joel Feld, NESN’s executive vice president of programming and executive producer. “We look forward to bringing our fans the tournament and helping the schools refresh their long-standing rivalries on the ice as they battle it out for bragging rights.”
