Versus will air a college football twin-bill today which includes one that makes history when the kickoff is made. That is the Utah-USC game which will mark the very first Pac-12 Conference game. That takes place at the venerable LA Coliseum at 7:30 p.m. ET. The other game will be in the Mountain West as TCU takes on Air Force. The Versus press release gives you the announcing assignments for each game as well.

NBC SPORTS GROUP’S COLLEGE FOOTBALL COVERAGE CONTINUES ON VERSUS ON SATURDAY WITH DOUBLE-HEADER FEATURING #25 TCU AT AIR FORCE FOLLOWED BY UTAH AT USC

VERSUS Will Have Pre- and Post-Game Shows for Each Game; Coverage Begins at 3 p.m. ET
This will be an exciting match-up between two of the elite teams in the Mountain West Conference.” – Shaun King
“Pac-12 is going to be watching this game because a bad show by Utah reinforces everything the naysayers have said that they couldn’t play a big boy schedule.” – Glenn Parker on Utah

NEW YORK (September 8, 2011) – The NBC Sports Group continues its college football coverage this weekend on VERSUS with a double-header on Saturday, September 10, when the Air Force Falcons host #25 TCU Horned Frogs in Colorado Springs, Colo., at 3:30 p.m. ET, followed by the Utah Utes traveling to Los Angeles to take on the USC Trojans at 7:30 p.m. ET.

VERSUS will surround its and NBC’s college football game coverage this season with pre- and post-game studio shows from NBC’s Football Night in America studio at 30 Rock. The pre-game show begins this Saturday at 3 p.m. ET and will be hosted by Liam McHugh with 1984 Heisman Trophy-winner Doug Flutie and Super Bowl champion and former NFL tight end Roland Williams serving as studio analysts. The studio show will also bridge game coverage of Saturday’s two contests and will provide postgame coverage of Utah-USC.

COMMENTATORS – Paul Burmeister will helm VERSUS’ Mountain West Conference coverage and will be joined by Shaun King as analyst and former NFL defensive end Anthony Herron as sideline analyst. Ted Robinson and Glenn Parker will lead VERSUS’ Pac-12 Conference coverage as play-by-play announcer and analyst, respectively, and will be joined by sideline analyst and former NFL linebacker Akbar Gbaja-Biamila. VERSUS will have an analyst reporting from the sidelines for all college football games to provide first-person analysis from the field and interact with the booth commentators.

PARKER ON USC: “USC is coming off a lackluster performance against Minnesota. The team is fueled by lack of scholarships and lack of post-season play, due to sanctions, and they are going to welcome a team that has everything to play for this season.”

PARKER ON UTAH: “The team needs to prove to the people they are joining in the Pac-12 that they truly belong.”

KING ON TCU: “TCU is known for their defense, but they uncharacteristically gave up 50 in their opener and coach Patterson will have to fix the problem or they will fall victim to Air Force’s vaunted multiple option attack. TCU has had success in the past against Air Force’s option because of two things, great tackling and being assignment sound. If they get those two things done, they will win.”

ADDITIONAL ONLINE FEATURES – NBCSports.com’s college football coverage will feature video highlights and features from all of VERSUS’ Mountain West, Pac-12 and Ivy League games. In addition, NBCSports.com will feature online-only analysis from all of the VERSUS’ college football experts.

I think I’ll post one more release this morning. I think it’s another DIY day. If I can sneak away to do some links, I will.
