NBC Wins with Pro and College Football

NBC Sports has received the final weekend ratings and they were good. They were good for Sunday Night Football which won the night over some tough competition and they were good for USC-Notre Dame on Saturday afternoon.

NEW YORK -- October 20, 2009 -- NBC's "Sunday Night Football" was the No. 1 broadcast on Sunday night and the No. 1 primetime show of the week in the key advertising demos, including Adults 18-49 for the sixth consecutive week (excluding NFL overruns) with the Falcons 21-14 win over the Bears. "SNF" topped the night again more than tripling the viewership of the NLCS Game 3 between the Dodgers and Phillies, as well as facing original network programming including ABC's Desperate Housewives and Brothers & Sisters, CBS's 60 Minutes and Amazing Race and Fox's Simpsons, Family Guy and The Cleveland Show.

NO. 1 ON SUNDAY NIGHT FOR SIXTH STRAIGHT WEEK: "Sunday Night Football" pulled in 18.2 million viewers (from 8:31-11:29 p.m. ET) and had a national household rating of 10.9 and a 17 share, easily winning the night across those metrics as well as in the key advertiser demos of Adults 18-34, 18-49, 25-54 and Men 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54. "Sunday Night Football" has been No. 1 for the night in total viewers, national household rating and adult 18-49 rating for the six straight weeks.

Additionally, "Sunday Night Football" topped the weekly primetime rankings in all the key advertising demos including adults 18-49, adults 18-34, adults 25-54 and all key adult-male demos -- men 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54. In total viewers and households, "Sunday Night Football" ranked No. 2 on the week among all primetime programs.

SNF CRUSHES NLCS: The viewership for the "Sunday Night Football" was 264 percent higher than that of the Dodgers-Phillies NLCS Game 3 playoff game on TBS (18.2 million vs. 5.0 million). In the Los Angeles market, "Sunday Night Football" beat the NLCS game featuring the hometown Dodgers by 15 percent (8.4 vs. 7.3).

USC-NOTRE DAME: BEST VIEWERSHIP IN 3 YEARS:
Saturday's USC-Notre Dame game on NBC Sports drew 6.5 million viewers, the most for a Notre Dame game on NBC since September 9, 2006 when the Penn St.-Notre Dame game drew 6.9 million viewers.
