More Wikipedia Sports Biography Hijinks

Chuckling over the Carson Palmer Wiki bio that was mangled today reminded me of a few other Wikipedia bios that were hacked to bits. Remember, anyone with an active membership can edit Wikipedia so if there’s a bad loss or bad call, angry fans will come out and alter the bio until Wikipedia’s editors put a stop to it.

I have four examples of bios that were hacked to bits until Wikipedia stepped in. Before they were wiped clean, I managed to take a screen shot so all of these are real. The language may not be safe for work so pleased be advised. In each case, click on the pics to get a better view.

First, after an LSU loss last year, angry fans came out after coach Les Miles and it would prove to be a regular occurrence.

During the 2009 American League Division Series between the Red Sox and Angels, umpire C.B. Bucknor made some absolutely horrible calls leading some Red Sox fans to deface his bio.

That’s really nasty, but pretty damned funny.

Now to Charlie Weis and I have two screengrabs. This came after his final game as Notre Dame coach. The fans were quite angry needless to say.

If you have any other examples, send them over and I’ll be glad to post them.
