ESPN Adds More SEC Football Games

ESPN has announced some additional SEC football games to its 2011 schedule. We have the details below.

ESPN Selects Additional 2011 SEC College Football Telecasts

ESPN has selected additional Southeastern Conference college football games for telecasts across ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU and the SEC Network during the 2011 season. Two Thursday and four Saturday games with SEC teams were previously announced. Additional selections will be determined as the season progresses. Highlights:

  • Telecasts of four of the top five teams, including No. 2 Alabama and No. 4 LSU from the SEC as well as matchups against non-conference foes No. 3 Oregon and No. 5 Boise State.
  • Three telecasts pitting No. 4 LSU against a ranked opponent: No. 3 Oregon in the Cowboys Classic (Saturday, Sept. 3, at 8 p.m. ET on ABC); at No. 21 Mississippi State (Saturday, Sept. 10, 12:20 p.m. on the SEC Network); and at No. 24 West Virginia (Saturday, Sept. 24 with time and network to be determined).
  • Three appearances by defending BCS National Champion No. 22 Auburn: against Utah State (Saturday, Sept. 3, at noon on ESPN or ESPN2); against No. 21 Mississippi State (Saturday, Sept. 10, at 12:20 p.m. on the SEC Network); and at Clemson (Saturday, Sept. 17, at noon on ABC).
  • No. 8 South Carolina on consecutive Saturdays: at Georgia Sept. 10, at 4:30 p.m. on ESPN and against Navy Sept. 17 at 6 p.m. on ESPN2.
  • In addition to ranked teams the first two weeks of the season, the SEC Network, ESPN Regional Television’s regionally syndicated SEC college sports package, will offer Mississippi at Vanderbilt Saturday, Sept. 17, at 12:20 p.m.
  • ESPN and ESPN2 will combine to showcase Mississippi in two non-conference matchups: against BYU Saturday, Sept. 3, at 4:45 p.m. on ESPN and at Fresno State Saturday, Oct. 1, at 9:15 p.m. on ESPN2.
