DEVELOPING: Pam Ward Removed From ESPN College Football Coverage

This being reported by Sports Illustrated’ Richard Deitsch, Pam Ward is being taken off ESPN’s college football coverage. No reason is being given for the change.

Ward became the first woman to regularly call college football on television starting in 2000. She began calling Big Ten football games on ESPN2, but more recently had been calling contests on ESPNU.

It leaves Beth Mowins as the only female calling the sport for ESPN.

A network spokesman tells Deitsch that Ward will continue to call other sports for ESPN.

More on the story as it develops.
