CNN Airport Network to Air Daily World Cup Programming

If you’re a busy traveler and spend a lot of your time in airports, then this post is for you. You may be familiar with watching the CNN Airport Network, an offshoot of CNN.

It provides news specifically catered to the traveler and is available in 50 major airports worldwide. In addition to programming from CNN networks such as CNN, Headline News and sister Time Warner channels such as HBO, TBS, TNT, truTV and Turner Classic Movies, it also airs live sports programming through the auspices of Turner Sports.

So for the World Cup, CNN Airport Network will air CNN International’s daily “World Sport” program which will originate from Rio de Janeiro for the duration of the World Cup. Lara Baldesarra (pictured above), formerly of Golf Channel’s 19th Hole, will be one of the anchors.

World Sport will air on CNN Airport Network at noon ET/PT.

Network Will Air CNN International’s “World Sport” Show Live From Brazil Beginning June 12 And Running Through July 13

Beginning today, CNN Airport Network will air CNN International’s World Sport show each day at 12pm ET/PT, featuring highlights from the day’s games and events surrounding the World Cup broadcast live from Brazil. World Sport is CNN International’s daily global sports news program featuring all the key highlights, profiles and interviews with the newsmakers and stars of sport around the world.

World Sport will be anchored in Rio de Janeiro for the duration of the tournament and CNN International will have a dedicated live studio for World Cup coverage set-up in Rio de Janeiro, alongside its permanent bureau in São Paolo. CNN World Sport anchors Amanda Davies, Alex Thomas and Lara Baldesarra will bring their expert analysis from Rio and elsewhere, and the network will have teams on hand at key games throughout the tournament. Off the pitch, CNN’s Brazil-based International Correspondent, Shasta Darlington, alongside fellow International Correspondent Fred Pleitgen, will also follow the big stories as they develop.
