We have the latest press release from The Group regarding the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs. So far, the playoffs on NBC platforms have gone swimmingly well. Like the NCAA Tournament on CBS/Turner, we can switch to games on NBC Sports Network, CNBC and NHL Network. My only pet peeve is that NBC should keep us more updated on the scores of the other games. They don’t have to have a constant scoreboard bug like CBS/Turner, but perhaps a five or ten minute ticker like the network used to do with the NFL in the 1980’s. That’s a way to keep fans interested and informed.
This weekend, NBC gets into the act after the cable side has had a head start. NBC will have one game on Saturday with Game 2 of the Washington-Boston series and then a doubleheader on Sunday.
NBC Sports Network will have doubleheaders on Saturday and Sunday nights.

GAMES TELEVISED SO FAR
For the first time in the 95-year history of the NHL, every Stanley Cup Playoff game will be televised nationally. The NBC Sports Group will provide unprecedented access to the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs in April, May and June, televising as many as 105 playoff games and possibly more than 262.5 hours of programming. Games will be presented on NBC, the NBC Sports Network, the NHL Network, and NBCUniversal’s business channel CNBC in primetime.
