Two SEC on CBS Notes

Some quick hits from CBS Sports in regards to its coverage of the SEC. First, CBS says the ratings for Tennessee-Florida were up from last year’s opener.

“SEC ON CBS” RATES IN OPENING WEEKEND WITH FLORIDA’S WIN OVER TENNESSEE

CBS Sports’ coverage of the SEC ON CBS on Saturday, Sept. 19, which saw Florida defeat Tennessee, earned an overnight household rating/share of 4.8/11, up 60% from last year’s 3.0/7 (Florida-Tennessee). This year’s game earned the highest rating for the first CBS Sports game of the college football season since a 6.0/13 (9/7/02; Miami-Florida).

And CBS has announced its selection for October 3.

CBS Sports has announced its college football game for Saturday, Oct. 3 (3:30-7:00 PM, ET) will feature *No. 7-ranked LSU at *No. 21-ranked Georgia. Verne Lundquist and Gary Danielson will call the contest, along with reporter Tracy Wolfson. COLLEGE FOOTBALL TODAY kicks off the day (3:00 PM, ET) with host Tim Brando and analyst Spencer Tillman. The game will be available in high definition.
