The NFL Today on CBS Quotage For NFL Divisional Playoff Saturday

Got this quotage late tonight. At this point, I wasn’t expecting to get a press release from the NFL TV partners, but kudos to CBS Sports sending this out. Always better late than never. I do hope that the full set of quotage comes from the usual suspects tomorrow. We’ll see.

Here are the quotes and notes from this evening’s edition of The NFL Today in advance of tonight’s Denver-New England game. I don’t think too many people were watching as New Orleans-San Francisco on Fox was in the midst of its crazy lead changes in the 4th quarter. Check out the CBS Sports press release.

NEWS, NOTES & QUOTES FROM CBS SPORTS’ “THE NFL TODAY” WITH JAMES BROWN, DAN MARINO, SHANNON SHARPE, BILL COWHER AND BOOMER ESIASON FOR AFC DIVISIONAL PLAYOFFS WEEK ON JANUARY 14 & 15

JAMES BROWN TALKS WITH BRONCOS TIM TEBOW

Tim Tebow has millions of fans, but none was more excited at the AFC Wild Card game than 16-year-old Bailey Knaub, who was a personal guest of Tebow as the Broncos battled the Steelers. James Brown sat down with them to relive that magical day. Deb Gelman is the producer.

“THE NFL TODAY’s” LESLEY VISSER REPORTING FROM GREEN BAY ON GIANTS-PACKERS

(On Packers offensive coordinator Joe Philbin joining team after death of his son this week) I just spoke with coach Mike McCarthy, and he said Joe Philbin will be here tomorrow, in Mike McCarthy’s words, to participate.

(Tim Tebow Note)  And finally there is a Tim Tebow note. Yes, the Packers are actually blaming Tim Tebow for the loss of their undefeated season. They said look what happened. When Tim Tebow was installed as the starting quarterback in Denver, John Fox traded Kyle Orton to Kansas City. And what happened? They beat the Green Bay Packers.

QUICK HITS

(On who has most pressure on them this weekend)
BOOMER ESIASON: But the guy under the most pressure has to be Joe Flacco. This week he said, if we win, it’s not because of anything I’ve done. I’m paraphrasing here. He says you guys (the media) blame me, when they lose it’s all on him, when they win, it’s not about him. He has a top three defense. He has a great running back. He has a great opportunity to get his team to the Super Bowl starting tomorrow against a rookie?led Houston Texans.

That’s it for the quotage for Saturday.
