SEC on CBS Rules College Football on Television for the 5th Straight Year

For the 5th straight year, the SEC on CBS is the highest-rated regular season college football package on sports television. The games averaged a 4.5 rating with a 10 share. In addition, three SEC on CBS games were the highest-rated college football contests of the 2013 season. Nice bookends for CBS as the SEC Championship between Auburn and Missouri and the season premiere of Alabama and Texas A&M were tied for first place. The Iron Bowl between Auburn and Alabama was the third highest-rated game.

The 4.5/10 number is 15% better than last year’s average of 3.9/9.

In addition, the SEC Championship last Saturday on CBS saw a rating of 8.6/17 and an average of 14.4 million viewers which is very good for college football.
