SEC on CBS Is The Highest Rated College Football TV Package

When CBS signed its landmark 15 year deal with the Southeastern Conference, it was wondered why the network committed to such a long time. Now, we see that the ratings are making that deal viable. We have this short press release from CBS touting the ratings which make the SEC package the highest rated and most watched in college football.

2010 “SEC ON CBS” SCORES HIGHEST RATING OF ANY COLLEGE FOOTBALL TELEVISION PACKAGE FOR SECOND CONSECUTIVE YEAR

CBS Sports’ national coverage of the SEC ON CBS for the 2010 season is the highest-rated regular season college football package on any network for the second consecutive season averaging a national household rating/share of 4.2/10.
            The SEC ON CBS season average of a 4.2/10 topped ABC’s season average of 3.5/7 for college football for the second time since 1990.
CBS Sports’ coverage of the SEC ON CBS was highlighted by the highest-rated college football games of the season, *No. 2-ranked Auburn beating *No. 11-ranked Alabama, which earned a national household rating/share of 7.3/17, (11/26/10) and six of the top 10 highest-rated games.
