Week 8 in college football brings the SEC on CBS to Louisiana for the #1 LSU Tigers hosting the #19th ranked Auburn Tigers. Uncle Verne Lundquist, Gary Danielson and Tracy Wolfson will be on-site in Baton Rouge, LA.
CBS brings in former Rutgers University defensive tackle Eric LeGrand as a guest studio analyst for this week. LeGrand will also talk with host Tim Brando and analyst Spencer Tillman about his recovery after being paralyzed over a year ago during a game. LeGrand has since become an analyst for the Rutgers Radio Network.

The CBS Television Network’s lead college football announce team of Verne Lundquist and Gary Danielson call the action live from Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge, La. Tracy Wolfson serves as lead reporter. Craig Silver, the Network’s coordinating producer of college football, produces and Steve Milton directs.
Former Rutgers Defensive Tackle Eric LeGrand, who was paralyzed from the neck down during a game over a year ago, serves as a guest analyst in-studio this Saturday. LeGrand joins host Tim Brando, and analysts Spencer Tillman and Aaron Taylor. LeGrand currently serves as an analyst for the Rutgers Radio Network. In addition to providing analysis, LeGrand discusses his rehabilitation and progress in overcoming the paralyzing injury. Coverage kicks off with CBS COLLEGE FOOTBALL SPECIAL (2:30-3:00 PM, ET) followed by COLLEGE FOOTBALL TODAY, the Network’s pre-game, halftime and post-game studio show, airing at 3:00 PM, ET. Vin DeVito produces and Linda Malino directs.
CBS Sports Network’s SEC TODAY (2:00-3:00 PM, ET) previews the “SEC Game of the Week” and provides fans the latest news and highlights from around the SEC. SEC TONIGHT airs following LSU-Auburn (7:00-8:00 PM, ET), recapping all the day’s SEC action.

(On suspensions of LSU players Tyrann Mathieu and Spencer Ware):
It is LSU’s best offensive player and best defensive player. No matter how good you are, when you start taking off the top of your talent it affects everybody else. Auburn has a shot now because they will spread the field out and there is one less guy to cover. Auburn is aware that Ware is the guy who sets the tone for them on offense.One of the things that LSU has as an advantage over everybody else is their depth. LSU can withstand this suspension more than any other team in this conference. And in one game it won’t quite pop up, but over time a loss of key players affects a lot of different positions. They will need all their great players to beat Alabama.
(On Auburn Coach Gene Chizik’s success):
Gene Chizik has proven again this year what a great coach he is. I never thought he would have this record this year. He is proving that his recruiting classes are as solid as people thought and solidifying his reputation as a great defensive coach. You can see the difference of where they were at the beginning of the season and where they are now. One of the great surprises in college football over the last three years has been Chizik’s success with the Auburn program.(On Auburn Attacking LSU’s Defense):
They have to use LSU’s speed and quickness against them. LSU is so fast on defense that you have to try and get them to do more than they should and keep them off-balance through misdirection plays and quick hitters. Auburn is uniquely designed that way. One of the stalwarts of their offense is misdirection, causing confusion with different looks.(On Keys to Game):
One thing that LSU has decided to do this year is rely on their talented players and stop taking so many chances. Miles is making people prove that they can stop LSU’s physical football game first. And that’s why they are not having those up and down swings in their style of play that you’ve seen in the past. They are simplistically physical and mean up front. If teams can’t handle that, they have no chance.
