NFL on CBS Earns Highest Week 1 Overnights in 14 Years

From the world headquarters of CBS, we learn the six regional games aired in the early window received the highest overnight ratings for Week 1 since 1999.

The games led by Cincinnati at Chicago averaged 11.2 with a 23 share. That’s up 8% from last year’s 10.4/22.

“THE NFL ON CBS” EARNS HIGHEST RATING IN 14 YEARS FOR WEEK 1

CBS Sports’ Week 1 regional coverage of THE NFL ON CBS on Sunday, Sept. 8, earned an overnight household rating/share of 11.2/23, up 8% from last year’s 10.4/22.

The 11.2/23 is the highest-rated singleheader game debut for CBS in the metered markets in 14 years (12.0/28 in 1999).

The Week 1 NFL ON CBS games were highlighted by the Cincinnati-Chicago, Tennessee-Pittsburgh, Oakland-Indianapolis, New England-Buffalo, Miami-Cleveland and Kansas City-Jacksonville games,
