Trying to post some more things today as Monday turned out to be a mess for no good reason. This came from the National Football League. The NFC and AFC Conference Championships averaged just under 45 million viewers on Sunday.
The NFC Championship on Fox which turned out to be a San Francisco 49ers win over the Atlanta Falcons saw an average viewership 42 million viewers with the AFC Championship on CBS between the Baltimore Ravens and New England Patriots garnering an astounding 47.7 million people for the entire game, 41.5 million in primetime.
However, ratings show that the numbers are down from last year. Sports Business Daily reports (subscription required) that average two-game viewership for 2013 of 44.9 million is well below last year’s average of 53.7 million.

The Baltimore Ravens-New England Patriots AFC Championship Game on CBS drew 47.7 million viewers, based on The Nielsen Company’s Fast National ratings. The San Francisco 49ers-Atlanta Falcons NFC Championship Game on FOX drew 42.0 million viewers. This marks the fourth consecutive year that each conference championship game drew 41 million viewers.
Five 2012 playoff games averaged at least 35 million viewers – tying the record set last year.
Since the Summer Olympics, nine NFL games have accounted for the only programs on television to reach 30 million viewers – four Divisional playoff games, two Conference Championship Games, two Wild Card playoff games, and the final Sunday Night Football game.
