It’s the 2016 NFL on CBS Schedule

Coming off a Super Bowl season, CBS will be back with as the AFC network including three playoff games (one Wild Card, one Divisional Playoff Game and the AFC Championship). This marks the 57th year of the Tiffany Network broadcasting the NFL and the 19th consecutive season as the home of the American Football Conference.

CBS will have nine doubleheaders this season in Weeks 2, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 12, 15 and 17. Once again, CBS will have cross-flex games as it will carry NFC games that normally would be on Fox. Between Weeks 5 and 9, the NFL can cross-flex twice and take Sunday afternoon games into NBC. Then between Weeks 10 and 17, except Week 16, the NFL can cross-flex any game. In Week 16, a full slate of games will be played on Christmas Eve and no games can be flexed there.

The CBS Television Network continues to be the leading NFL broadcast network as it kicks off its 2016 NFL season broadcasting the most games of any network with THE NFL ON CBS Sunday afternoon and Thursday Night Football packages.

THE NFL ON CBS schedule features some of the most marquee games in the 4:25 PM national window, the highest-rated NFL television window, including Cincinnati-Dallas (10/9), New England-Pittsburgh (10/23), Indianapolis-Green Bay (11/6) and New England-Denver (12/18); as well as key 1:00 PM match-ups including Cincinnati-Pittsburgh (9/18), Cincinnati-New England (10/16), Baltimore-Dallas (11/20), Houston-Green Bay (12/4) and N.Y. Jets-New England (12/24).

In addition to the AFC package, THE NFL ON CBS schedule once again features NFC crossover-flex games including Philadelphia-Seattle (11/20) and Carolina-Oakland (11/28).  The regular-season schedule is followed by a post-season slate of AFC Playoff games including the AFC Championship game on January 22, 2017.

This year marks the CBS Television Network’s 57th year broadcasting the NFL, as well as the third season of partnership between CBS and NFL Network in televising Thursday Night Football.  The five-game Thursday Night Football schedule kicks off on September 15 and features New England, Denver and the classic NFC North rivalry Chicago at Green Bay (10/20).
