CBS' Thanksgiving Day Game is The Highest Rated Contest on Turkey Day

CBS tells us that its broadcast of the Houston-Detroit game on Thanksgiving Day, the first of three games on network television on the holiday garnered the highest ratings on the holiday.

CBS says the game which went deep into overtime with Houston winning 34-31, received a 15.2 rating with a 36 share becoming the second highest rated Thanksgiving Day game on the Tiffany Network since it regained rights to the NFL in 1998.

THE NFL ON CBS scored the highest-rated game of Thanksgiving Day with its coverage of the Houston Texans 34-31 overtime win over the Detroit Lions on Thursday, Nov. 22. The game earned an average overnight household rating/share of 15.2/36, the second highest-rated Thanksgiving Day game for the Network in the metered markets since CBS re-acquired NFL broadcast rights in 1998 (15.3/38; Miami-Dallas; 11/24/11).
