CBS Sports Quick Quotage From The U.S. Open

When CBS started its coverage of the US Open this morning, it reported that Patrick McEnroe would resign as U.S. Davis Cup Captain later this year. Host Ian Eagle asked analyst Jim Courier if he would be interested in taking over the U.S. squad.

CBS SPORTS’ JIM COURIER INTERESTED IN DAVIS CUP CAPTAINCY
CBS Sports U.S. Open Tennis analyst Jim Courier commented to Ian Eagle during the Network’s coverage of the U.S. Open Tennis Championships on Monday, September 6 on the resignation of Patrick McEnroe as Davis Cup Captain:
EAGLE: No successor has been named yet, and yours is a name that has come up in the past.  Is this a job that you would be interested in?
COURIER: Well, Davis Cup means the world to me.  And at some point in my life I certainly hope to have that seat.  I’m definitely interested in the job, so hopefully they’ll give me a call and we’ll chat about it.”

Well, CBS certainly broke some news and good on Ian to ask Courier if he would be interested.
