Last week, CBS pulled Rihanna singing Jay-Z’s “Run This Town” off Thursday Night Football due to the Ray Rice controversy and also due to her own connection with domestic violence thanks to Chris Brown.
CBS had planned to use her song for the rest of the season, but then this morning she reacted in a way that only Rihanna can:
CBS you pulled my song last week, now you wanna slide it back in this Thursday? NO, Fuck you! Y'all are sad for penalizing me for this.

As a result, CBS is pulling the song permanently and will use another theme song in its place. The network made the following statement today:
“Beginning this Thursday, we will be moving in a different direction with some elements of our Thursday Night Football open. We will be using our newly created Thursday Night Football theme music to open our game broadcast.”
Plans to use actor Don Cheadle in the opening are still in place, that is unless he decides to chime in as well.
It appears that CBS won’t miss Rihanna at all.
