CBS’ Last Airing of Duke-North Carolina Scores In the Ratings

I’m sure CBS would love to have more opportunities to have the Duke-Carolina college basketball rivalry on its air. Last night’s primetime matchup between the two schools became the highest rated regular season college basketball game in two years. We have the details from CBS Sports.

THIS JUST IN…

…FROM CBS SPORTS

CBS Sports’ prime time college basketball coverage on Saturday, March 5, which saw *No. 13-ranked North Carolina beat No. 4-ranked Duke, earned an average overnight household rating/share in the metered markets of 3.2/6, up 88% from the comparable window last year (1.7/3; ESPN; 3/6/10).

This 3.2/6 is the highest rating in the metered markets for any regular-season basketball game on any network since a 3.4/7 for Duke-North Carolina (CBS; 3/08/09).

With ESPN having the ACC contract through 2022, unless it and the ACC sell a package of games to CBS, this will be the last time you will see Duke-North Carolina on the Tiffany Network.
