CBS Announces 2011 SEC on CBS Football Schedule

For SEC football fans, today is a big day as both CBS and ESPN have announced their preliminary football schedules for the 2011 season. Let’s take a look at the SEC on CBS schedule first.

CBS SPORTS’ 2011 COLLEGE FOOTBALL SCHEDULE OFFERS BEST OF SOUTHEASTERN CONFERENCE EACH WEEK

CBS Sports’ Weekly Selection of SEC Football “Game of the Week” Begins September 17 with Broadcast of Tennessee-Florida

CBS Sports kicks off its 11th consecutive season of national coverage of Southeastern Conference Football on Saturday, Sept. 17 (3:30-7:00 PM, ET) with its broadcast of Tennessee at Florida.

In its third year of a 15-year agreement with the SEC, CBS Sports continues to be the exclusive national network broadcaster of SEC home football games, including the SEC Championship Game. In showcasing the top conference match-ups in the package, CBS Sports will have the first selection each week and will broadcast the “SEC Game of the Week.”

THE SEC ON CBS schedule features a total of 15 games during the network’s 12-week season, including the SEC Championship on Saturday, Dec. 3.  In addition to the SEC, CBS Sports will broadcast the annual Army-Navy game on Saturday, Dec. 10 and the 77th Sun Bowl on Saturday, Dec. 31.

Highlights of 2011 schedule include:

September 17 — Tennessee at Florida 3:30 PM, ET

October 1 — SEC DOUBLEHEADER – Prime Time 3:30 PM, ET & 8:00 PM, ET

October 29 — Florida vs. Georgia 3:30 PM, ET

November 12 — SEC Doubleheader 12:00 NOON, ET & 3:30 PM, ET

November 25 — Arkansas at LSU 2:30 PM, ET

December 3 — SEC Championship 4:00 PM, ET

December 10 — Army vs. Navy 2:30 PM, ET

December 31 — Sun Bowl 2:00 PM, ET

All other “SEC Games of the Week” will be announced six-to-12 days prior to their broadcast date.

Verne Lundquist and Gary Danielson, along with Tracy Wolfson reporting from the sidelines, serve as CBS Sports’ lead college football announce team.

COLLEGE FOOTBALL TODAY, the Network’s pre-game, halftime and post-game studio show, will be broadcast in the half-hour format 11 times throughout the season, premiering on Saturday, Sept. 17 (3:00-3:30 PM, ET).  Hosted by Tim Brando with analyst Spencer Tillman, Tony Barnhart and Archie Manning, COLLEGE FOOTBALL TODAY presents highlights of all the day’s action.

Craig Silver serves as coordinating producer and Steve Milton is the lead director for the Network’s college football broadcasts.  Vin DeVito serves as producer for COLLEGE FOOTBALL TODAY, which originates from the CBS Broadcast Center in New York City.  Harold Bryant is Vice President, Production, CBS Sports.
