CBS is back on the college basketball scene today with a game between top-ranked Arizona and 25th ranked Michigan at Ann Arbor, MI. In a complete upset, Jim Nantz comes out of the woodwork to call this game with Greg Anthony. Nantz will then head to Miami to call the Patriots-Dolphins game tomorrow.
Today’s game will probably be Jim’s last college basketball contest until he calls the Big Ten Tournament next March. And he gets put on the “A” team for the NCAA Tournament. Nice work if you can get it.
After today, Nantz will have called the rest of the NFL regular season and the postseason culminating with the AFC Championship and throw in the PGA’s West Coast Swing too, but probably no college basketball. Does that justify him being on the number one team? Not in my book, but it does with CBS. O.k., I’ve ranted enough.
Anyway, here’s what CBS is saying about the game.
