The Night Before the NCAA Tournament Links

You know that anticipation you had as a kid waiting for Christmas and to get that chance to open your presents? That’s how I feel as we approach the first day of the NCAA Tournament. I always look forward to it. And now that I’m able to watch it online, it’s even better than having to find a local radio station with updates.

But anyway, you don’t want to hear me wax poetic, you want links, I know. I’m here to give them to you. Let’s go.

Neil Best of Newsday says CBS College Sports Network will pick up two games from CBS’ coverage of the NCAA Tournament.

Gary Parrish of CBSSports.com has his picks of games to watch in the first two days of the tournament.

Carter Blackburn of CBS College Sports Network writes a blog post for the New York Times about his first experience in calling the NCAA Tournament for CBS this week.

Etan Horowitz of the Orlando Sentinel writes in his blog about the online tools you can use to keep track of March Madness.

Amanda Cuda of the Connecticut Post says the NCAA Tournament is a distraction to workers across the United States. But Sarah Talalay of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel says companies are now finding ways to embrace March Madness.

Ken Schott of the Schenectady Gazette writes in his Parting Schotts blog about the ESPN family of networks picking up full coverage of the NCAA Men’s Hockey Tournament.

John Altavilla of the Hartford Courant reports that the NCAA has completed its investigation into the University of Connecticut arranging for a private visit of ESPN for recruit Maya Moore last year.

Jim Carlisle from the Ventura County Star writes in his Slightely Askew blog about Los Angeles Dodgers owner Frank McCourt’s plans to develop the area around Dodger Stadium.

Alex Weprin of Broadcasting & Cable writes that the YES Network will give Yankees manager Joe Girardi his own weekly show throughout the MLB regular season.

Jeff Richgels of the Capital (WI) Times says FSN Wisconsin will have 65 Brewers games in HD this season.

Michael Klein of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports that sports radio station WPEN will become a full-time ESPN Radio affiliate on April 1.

Phil Rosenthal of the Chicago Tribune writes that a local sports anchor is changing stations.

That will do it for links until the morning.
