Another Ratings Record For CBC

The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation set yet another viewership record for the Stanley Cup Final, garnering an average viewership of 6.6 million people for Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final, breaking the previous record from Friday night which had an average of 6.1 million. Viewership peaked at 8.1 million right near the end of the 1st period. Quite a smashing viewership for the Stanley Cup Final on CBC. It’s set three records thus far and with Game 7 tonight, it could set yet another standard.

GAME 6 DELIVERS ANOTHER NEW RATINGS RECORD FOR CBC’S HOCKEY NIGHT IN CANADA

An average audience of 6.6 million Canadians watched; Game reached 16.2 million Canadians

Monday night’s Game 6 delivered a new ratings record for CBC’S HOCKEY NIGHT IN CANADA, with an average audience of 6.6 million Canadians tuning in. That’s the most-watched NHL broadcast in CBC history* – beating the 6.1 million that watched Game 5.

The game, which saw Boston defeat Vancouver 5-2 to tie the series 3-3, peaked at 8.1 million viewers at 9:06 pm ET near the end of the first period. The game reached a total of 16.2 million Canadians, the most ever for the Final on CBC.

The game also delivered spectacular ratings in the key 25-54 demo, with an average audience of 2.9 million viewers.

Game 7 of the series goes tonight in Vancouver, starting at 7:30 pm ET with Hockey Tonight on CBC’S HOCKEY NIGHT IN CANADA.
