WestwoodOne Sports All Over Super Bowl XLVIII

On Sunday, February 2, Super Bowl XLVIII will air exclusively on WestwoodOne Radio. The network’s coverage begins at noon with Super Bowl Preview co-hosted by Scott Graham and Monday Night Football analyst Boomer Esiason.

That will be followed by three other shows including Super Bowl Tailgate hosted by WFAN’s Craig Carton at the New Meadowlands, site of this year’s Super Bowl.

Kevin Harlan will call the game and he’ll be joined by the aforementioned Esiason who’s getting a “home” game so to speak. Joining Harlan and Esiason will be Mark Malone and James Lofton will be sideline analysts. Jim Gray hosts pregame, halftime and postgame for Westwood One.

New York, NY – January 24, 2014 – For the 27th consecutive year and the 41st time overall, WestwoodOne Sports, the official network radio partner for the National Football League, presents comprehensive coverage of the Super Bowl. The network will feature a full schedule of Game Day programming leading up to kickoff of Super Bowl XLVIII.

Super Bowl XLVIII airs live from MetLife Stadium in New York/New Jersey on Sunday, February 2, 2014 as Peyton Manning and the AFC Champion Denver Broncos take on Russell Wilson and the NFC Champion Seattle Seahawks. WestwoodOne’s broadcast of Super Bowl XLVIII will be heard on nearly 700 radio stations nationwide, as well as on SiriusXM satellite radio, NFL.com/Audiopass, and NFL Mobile subscribers.

WestwoodOne’s live game coverage features Kevin Harlan, handling the play-by-play duties for the Super Bowl for the fourth straight year, and Boomer Esiason, serving as the color analyst—his 14th consecutive with the network.Mark Malone and Hall of Famer James Lofton will once again report from the sidelines. Jim Gray will anchor the pregame and halftime coverage, with appearances by both Arizona wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald and New England quarterback Tom Brady. Scott Graham and Hall of Famer Rod Woodson will also contribute to the coverage.

Howard Deneroff is the Executive Producer of WestwoodOne Sports, and this marks his 25th Super Bowl with the network. Larry Costigan is the Coordinating Producer.

In addition to the Super Bowl XLVIII broadcast, WestwoodOne takes over the airwaves with a full slate of pregame programming, beginning at 12:00 pm ET on Game Day—

  • 12:00 pm ET: “Super Bowl Preview,” hosted by Scott Graham and Boomer Esiason
  • 1:00 pm ET:   “Super Bowl Insider,” hosted by Mark Malone
  • 2:00 pm ET:   “The Super Bowl Tailgate Show” hosted by Craig Carton, Hall of Famer Rod Woodson, Tim Ryan, and reporter Laura Okmin, will broadcast live from the  NFL On Location tailgate party at the neighboring Izod Center.
  • 4:00 pm ET:   “Super Sunday,” the Super Bowl XLVIII pregame show, live from MetLife Stadium
  • 5:00 pm ET:   Live game coverage of Super Bowl XLVIII from MetLife Stadium.

Additionally, WestwoodOne will produce “Seven Days to Sunday—The Road to Super Bowl XLVIII.” This hour-long preview show will air each night during the week leading up to Game Day, beginning on Monday night, January 27th, and continuing through Saturday night, February 1st , 2014. Hosted by Scott Graham, the voice of NFL Films, the nightly program will feature interviews with players from both teams participating in Super Bowl XLVIII, as well as coaches and other special guests, including NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. The show will also contain a nightly flashback segment, as WestwoodOne delves into its deep archives to remember past Super Bowls with old highlights and reflections from some of the game’s greatest legends. Each night’s show will be co-hosted by a different WestwoodOne analyst, such as Boomer Esiason, Hall of Famers James Lofton and Rod Woodson, and Mark Malone, among others.
