Saturday Links

Late start today. You may notice in the College Basketball Viewing Picks for today that the America East and C-USA Championships are missing and that’s because I slept in.

And it’s now time to give you some linkage from the morning papers. In addition, I’ll see if I can monitor the SEC Tournament later tonight as severe weather is still expected. It’s strange to see the SEC Tournament played at Georgia Tech where the ACC logo is all over the floor, but these are extenuating circumstances and it’s one area that is available since the Philips Arena is closed because it suffered some damage just like the Georgia Dome.

The Dallas Morning News’ Barry Horn says this is a great country to have the NCAA Tournament available online.

And Jeremy Peter of the Cincinnati Enquirer says former Royal Bob Love will be featured in the documentary as well.

Jim Williams of the DC/Baltimore Examiner says today is a big day for some local teams gunning for the NCAA Tournament.

Pete Dougherty of the Albany Times Union writes in his blog that because of the tornado that swept through Atlanta last night, the SEC has moved the final of its tournament to 3:30 p.m. ET on Sunday, forcing CBS to move it to ESPN2. And Pete says the semifinal of the America East’s women’s tournament featuring Albany and Hartford will not be shown locally.

Here’s CBS Sports’ official announcement of its programming move for Sunday.

Awful Announcing has audio clips of WFAN’s Mike & the Mad Dog trying to call the Georgetown-Villanova game at the Big East Tournament on Thursday. Calling it a train wreck is kind.

That’s all for now.
