During the 31st Annual Sports Emmy Awards, NBC Sports took five including Outstanding Sports Personality, Studio Host (Bob Costas, who else?), Outstanding Sports Personality, Event Analyst (Cris Collinsworth) and Outstanding Live Sports Sports Series as well as Outstanding Live Sports Special. Quite an achievement.

Rose Hall, Home of Jazz at Lincoln Center.Madden, who served as “NBC Sunday Night Football” analyst from 2006-2008, was presented the Lifetime Achievement Award by NBC Universal Sports & Olympics chairman Dick Ebersol and Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones.“He defined forever what the term analyst is,” said Ebersol. “It means somebody of great passion teaching you with the same enthusiasm they have for what they love.”“As an owner in the National Football League,” said Jones, “I want everyone in this room to know how much we appreciate what you have done for the National Football League.”For the second consecutive year, NBC Sports won Outstanding Live Sports Series: “Sunday Night Football.” NBC Sports has now won the award three of the last four years, also winning in 2007 for its NASCAR coverage. The victory marked the second consecutive year that NBC Sports won the category after claiming the award last year for its 2008 U.S. Open coverage.Bob Costas was awarded his 21st career Emmy and second consecutive for Outstanding Sports Personality, Studio Host. Costas hosted NBC’s “Football Night in America” live from the site of the game in 2009. He won the Emmy in the same category last year for his work at the 2008 Beijing Summer Games.Cris Collinsworth was awarded his second consecutive Emmy for Outstanding Sports Personality, Sports Event Analyst. It was Collinsworth’s 11th career Emmy, which includes wins in 2007 and 2008 in the Studio Analyst category for work on NBC’s “Football Night in America.”NBC Sports won an Emmy for “Countdown to Vancouver, NBCOlympics.com” in the category of Outstanding New Approaches – Short Format.NBC Sports won five Emmy Awards in the following categories:
