MLB Networks Airs 31 Games in 31 Days in May

MLB Network won’t air games every day in May, but they have enough games to last the entire month. There will be Interleague action as well as rivalry games like Red Sox-Yankees. Bob Costas and Jim Kaat will call that game on May 13. Matt Vasgersian and John Smoltz will team up to call four games in May. We have your press release and schedule.

Costas and Kaat to call Boston Red Sox at New York Yankees on May 13
Smoltz and Vasgersian to call four games starting May 5

Secaucus, N.J., April 27, 2011 – MLB Network’s live regular season game telecasts continue in May with every division leader and interleague matchups featured across a schedule of 31 games. The schedule begins with a doubleheader on Tuesday May 3, starting with the AL East first-place New York Yankees against the Detroit Tigers at 7:00 p.m. ET, followed by the Chicago Cubs at Los Angeles Dodgers at 10:00 p.m. ET.

John Smoltz and Matt Vasgersian will call four games for MLB Network in May, starting with the NL Central first-place Milwaukee Brewers at Atlanta Braves on Thursday Night Baseball on May 5 at 7:00 p.m. ET. MLB Network’s Bob Costas and Jim Kaat will be in the booth for the first visit to the Bronx by the Boston Red Sox to face their division rival New York Yankees on Friday, May 13 at 7:00 p.m. ET. The May game schedule also features four Minor League matchups starting with the Durham Bulls (Triple-A Tampa Bay Rays) at Indianapolis Indians (Triple-A Pittsburgh Pirates) on Tuesday, May 3 at 11:00 a.m. ET.
