MLB Network Announces June Live Game Schedule

As we head into June and the middle of 2011, MLB Network will provide plenty of games as the baseball season steams into the second round of Interleague play. A total of 26 MLB games will be aired as well as two MiLB baseball games involving AAA teams. Bob Costas and Matt Vasgersian will call share duties calling Tuesday and Thursday Night Baseball for MLB Network. They’ll be joined by David Cone for a guest spot twice. Also Tom Verducci returns to the booth for two games on consecutive days. We have the press release and the schedule.

Secaucus, N.J., May 24, 2011 – MLB Network’s 26 live game telecasts in June feature 12 interleague matchups, plus games between longtime rivals and division leaders. In the second round of interleague play for the 2011 season, MLB Network will showcase the Boston Red Sox at Philadelphia Phillies, New York Yankees at Chicago Cubs, Texas Rangers at Atlanta Braves, Detroit Tigers at Colorado Rockies and Minnesota Twins at Milwaukee Brewers, starting on Friday, June 17.

As a special guest, former AL Cy Young Award winner and longtime Yankees broadcaster David Cone will join MLB Network’s Bob Costas for two games between AL East rivals Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees on Tuesday, June 7 and Thursday, June 9. MLB Network’s Tom Verducci will return to the game broadcast booth twice in June, first with Costas to call the NL West first-place San Francisco Giants at NL Central first-place St. Louis Cardinals on Thursday Night Baseball on June 2, and with Matt Vasgersian for a matchup between NL Central rivals Cubs and Cardinals on Friday, June 3. Verducci called his first MLB game on MLB Network in August 2010.

The June game schedule also features two Minor League matchups, including the Pawtucket Red Sox (Triple-A Boston Red Sox) at Durham Bulls (Triple-A Tampa Bay Rays) on Monday, June 6 and the Louisville Bats (Triple-A Cincinnati Reds) at Syracuse Chiefs (Triple-A Washington Nationals) on Thursday, June 9.

Games will be blacked out in each team’s home television territory unless otherwise announced. Viewers in areas subject to blackouts will be provided with an alternate game telecast or other programming.
