Blogs with Balls 3.0 To Be Held in Chicago

It’s hard to believe that it’s been almost a year since I attended the very first Blogs with Balls conference in New York. Since then, BwB 2.0 went to Las Vegas and it’s been just announced that BwB 3.0 will be held in Chicago in June at the Captain Morgan Club at Wrigley Field.

Some panelists and speakers have already been announced including ESPN’s Amy K. Nelson who was at the first BwB and I believe she also attended BwB 2.0, Yahoo’s Big League Stew blog, Bethlehem Shoals from Free Darko and many more to come.

For those who don’t know, Blogs with Balls is an opportunity for sports bloggers to congregate, network, and form the genesis to team up. I truly believe Fang’s Bites would not have blown up as it has without going to New York last year and meeting with so many people, putting faces with blogs and gathering great ideas which I have been putting to use.

If you’ve just started a blog or even have an established one, I wholeheartedly recommend going to BwB 3.0 to meet with fellow bloggers, find out how he/she writes and also discover how the mainstream media is treating blogs. It’s also a great event.

I’m hoping to go. I’ll see down the line how my schedule works out and I’ll certainly let you know if I’m going.

Here are videos from the first two Blogs with Balls events. This first video is from BwB 1.0 and for those who know me, ignore the shots of your humble blogger. I’m at the bar talking with Neil Best of Newsday and shown again talking with Keith Thibault of Sports Media Journal.

Here are two videos from BwB 2.0 in Vegas. This one recaps the event and has some good production values.

This one, the Blogs with Balls After Dark show looks at the poker tournament that took place with several bloggers including Dan Levy of On The DL.

You get a feel for the fun at Blogs with Balls. To get tickets, you can go here. A sale date will be announced soon.

Back in October, Keith and I spoke with Chris Lucas of HHR Media Group, the organizer of Blog with Balls during the 4th episode of the Sports Media Weekly podcast regarding BwB 2.0 so you can get a feel for the events.
