Wednesday Night Update

As I’m watching the Red Sox collapse in the American League East, I’ll give you an update tonight.

What happened to LC and the 38Cliches blog this past week has started me on a massive backup of this site. I’ve already started up a mirror site at WordPress so if I lose this, I’ll be ready over there.

Let’s give you a couple of links tonight.

Paulsen over at the Sports Media Blog notes that CBS’ The NFL Today has beaten Fox NFL Sunday for the second week in a row and in the first two weeks of the NFL season, CBS is the big winner thus far.

Bruce Allen of the Boston Sports Media Watch site blasts Sports Illustrated for its piling on Bill Belichick with an anecdote that was found to be false.

Matt Sussman of Blogcritics.com reviews the Big Ten Network. He likes what he sees.

FSN Ohio has announced it will carry 75 games of the NHL’s Columbus Blue Jackets including 13 in HD.

Back up to Canada where TSN has announced it will carry 21 Toronto Raptors games and 17 playoff games including the NBA Finals. William Houston of the Toronto Globe and Mail talks about CBC picking up the NBA for the first time. And the Canadian Press looks at the breakdown of the 82 game schedule for the Raptors’ TV partners.

Kendra Meinert of the Green Bay Press-Gazette writes a story about Frank Caliendo who has his popular segment on Fox NFL Sunday and premieres a new sketch show on TBS later in the fall.

Mark Bowman of MLB.com writes about the return of Skip Carey to the Atlanta Braves broadcast booth. Skip had congestive heart failure.

Here’s the tentative schedule for the MLB postseason. I do look forward to having TBS do the playoffs as I have not been a fan of Joe Morgan analysis or Chris Berman’s play-by-play on ESPN.

That will do for tonight. I’ll be back Thursday morning.
