The Big Ten Network's Basketball Schedule

Today, the Big Ten Network announced at its basketball schedule today including 110 men’s games and 64 women’s games. Most will be interconference games and it will end with the Big Ten Tournament in March. Here’s the press release:

Network to Televise More Than 170 Basketball Games This Season

Nearly every game to be produced in high definition

CHICAGO – With more than 170 basketball games this season, the Big Ten Network will televise more than twice the number of Big Ten men’s games and more than three times the number of Big Ten women’s games of any other network. Nearly every Big Ten Network game will be available in high definition.

“We’re thrilled to bring so much Big Ten basketball action to fans across the country,” Big Ten Network President Mark Silverman said. “With nightly episodes of Big Ten Tonight and the Big Ten Tip-Off Show to complement our extensive game coverage, the Big Ten Network is the fans’ ultimate destination for basketball.”

The Big Ten Network’s schedule features 110 men’s games, including three Big Ten Men’s Basketball Tournament contests. Sixty of those regular-season games will be intra-conference match-ups. During the conference season, the network will typically air games on Tuesdays and Sundays as well as doubleheaders on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Conference action on the Big Ten Network begins at 4 PM ET on New Year’s Eve with a doubleheader as Ohio State hosts Iowa. At 6 PM ET, Williams Arena in Minneapolis will be the scene for the Golden Gophers’ Big Ten opener against Michigan State.

Once again, the Big Ten Network will televise three Big Ten Men’s Basketball Tournament games. The schedule includes the first game of the tournament at noon ET on Thursday, March 12, from Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. The network will also carry the quarterfinal match-ups involving the tournament’s No. 2 seed and the No. 3 seeds on Friday, March 13.

The network’s televised non-conference slate tips off on Friday, Nov. 14, and some of the opponents will include 2008 NCAA Tournament participants such as Butler, Cornell, Gonzaga and Temple.

Sixty-four women’s basketball games, including nine Big Ten Women’s Basketball Tournament contests, will be televised. Thirty-seven of the regular season games will be intra-conference match-ups.

During the conference season, the network will typically air women’s basketball games on Mondays and Thursdays with doubleheaders on Sundays. Conference play on the network begins on Sunday, Dec. 21. The doubleheader begins at noon ET as Michigan State travels to Penn State. At 2 PM ET, Ohio State hosts Michigan.

The Big Ten Network will televise nine Big Ten Women’s Basketball Tournament games, including all three games on Thursday, all four quarterfinal games on Friday and both semifinals on Saturday.

The network’s non-conference television schedule begins at 9 PM ET on Monday, Nov. 17, when Northwestern hosts Big 12 power Kansas State. The Big Ten Network’s non-conference women’s schedule includes 10 opponents that reached in the NCAA Tournament last season from conferences such as the ACC, Big 12, Big East and SEC.

The network will televise four ACC-Big Ten Women’s Challenge games. Ohio State hosts North Carolina at 8 PM ET on Dec. 3. The network will have a doubleheader beginning at 6:30 PM ET on Dec. 4 as defending Big Ten Tournament Champion Purdue takes on Maryland followed by Virginia at Illinois. At 6:30 PM ET on Friday, Dec. 5, Michigan hosts NC State.

The Big Ten Network’s schedules for both men’s and women’s basketball games are below.
