Sunday Morning Links

Good morning. Let’s get ready for some football and give you some links before Week 3 gets underway.

Jim Williams of the Examiner writes in his Watch This! blog that Fox’ Troy Aikman likes the development of Redskins QB Jason Campbell.

Over to the New York Post where Phil Mushnick criticizes Donovan McNabb for bringing out the race card in his Real Sports interview last week.

Neil Best of Newsday finds an Irish bar on Long Island which is showing the Rugby World Cup. And in his blog, Best alerts readers that he won’t be posting today. Thanks for the heads up, Neil.

Long a critic of MSG Network, Bob Raissman of the New York Daily News goes after the channel again for not mentioning the Isiah Thomas sexual harassment lawsuit on any of its shows.

Mark Starr of Newsweek previews FSN’s new show, Sports Science which premieres next Sunday.

James Joyner of the excellent Outside the Beltway blog, criticizes ESPN’s football coverage. Not just Monday Night Football, but its college football coverage as well.

Kristian Pope of the Wilmington (DE) News Journal goes behind the scenes with ESPN/ABC as it prepares to televise today’s NASCAR race in Dover.

Chip Towers of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution talked with the legendary Voice of the Georgia Bulldogs, Larry Munson, who is in semi-retirement about him watching his first UGA game at his home in a very long time.

Brian Rosenthal of the Lincoln (NE) Journal Star says there used to be a time when Nebraska fans would know what time the Cornhuskers would kick off. That’s no longer the case. Rosenthal says blame the TV networks for that.

Eric Morath of the Detroit News writes that fans of the Big Ten are still hampered by the Big Ten Network dispute with cable. Matt Trowbridge of the Rockford (IL) Register Star wants BTN on basic cable, now.

Not too many links today, but it’s quality not quantity. Anyway, I’ll have Videos of the Week sometime later today.
