BREAKING NEWS: Big Ten Network signs with Insight Cable

From Sports Business Daily:

Big Ten Network Finalizing Deal With Insight

By John Ourand, Staff Writer

The Big Ten Network is finalizing details with Insight Communications to have the network up at tomorrow’s launch, sources say. The network will be on the expanded basic tier in Ohio, but it is unknown where it will reside on Insight systems in Illinois and Indiana; it will be on a digital tier in the non-Big Ten state of Kentucky. Insight, the ninth largest cable operator in the U.S. with 1.34 million subs, is the largest cable operator to cut a deal with BTN. Comcast and Time Warner Cable still do not have deals. The number of homes Insight has in the Big Ten footprint could not be determined. A formal announcement could come as soon as this afternoon. BTN declined to comment.
