It started already with the Big Ten Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Championships and it will continue throughout the month with other fall sports as their championships will take place as well. So the conference Field Hockey and Soccer Tournaments will also be held and Big Ten Network will be all over them. Let’s take a look at the schedule.
Big Ten Fall Championships to Air on Big Ten Network in NovemberCoverage to include cross country, field hockey and men’s soccerCHICAGO – The Big Ten Network will once again provide coverage of all three Big Ten fall championships, including live broadcasts during the 2010 Big Ten Field Hockey Tournament and Big Ten Men’s Soccer Tournament and delayed coverage of the Big Ten Cross Country Championships.The Big Ten Network will be in Evanston, Ill. for the semifinals and final of the Big Ten Field Hockey Tournament. Live coverage of the semifinal round will begin at 1 PM ET with the second game to follow approximately 30 minutes after the first on Friday, Nov. 5 The championship game will air live on Sunday, Nov. 7, at 3 PM ET. Four Big Ten teams appear in the latest national poll, including No. 5 Ohio State, No. 9 Penn State, No. 11 Michigan State and No. 12 Michigan. The Buckeyes will be in the hunt for their second tournament title and first since 2001, while the Nittany Lions will try to extend their overall tally to a conference-best five tournament titles.The Big Ten Network also will televise live the semifinals and final of the Big Ten Men’s Soccer Tournament, hosted by Penn State University. Semifinal coverage will air live at 1 PM ET and approximately 3:30 PM ET on Friday, Nov. 12. The final will be carried live at noon ET on Sunday, Nov. 14. Michigan State is the Big Ten’s top-ranked team at No. 23 nationally, but Ohio State has captured two of the last three tournament titles.The network will offer delayed coverage of the Big Ten Cross Country Championships, at noon ET on Sunday, Nov. 21. The University of Wisconsin hosted the event. The Big Ten has three nationally-ranked men’s teams, featuring two in the top 10 with Wisconsin at No. 6 and Indiana at No. 7. On the women’s side, five Big Ten teams are ranked in the top 30, paced by No. 16 Michigan State. The Badgers have won the last 11 Big Ten men’s cross country titles, and will be seeking their 44th overall championship.
