Big Ten Network to Air Bowl Selection Special Sunday Night

Hour-long program kicks off network’s series of post-season football shows
CHICAGO – Dave Revsine will host the Big Ten Bowl Selection Special at 8:30 PM ET Sunday live from the Big Ten Network studios in Chicago. Revsine will be joined by Gerry DiNardo, Howard Griffith and Glen Mason, as the network’s analysts preview each Big Ten bowl matchup and discuss key post-season factors during the one-hour program.
The Big Ten Bowl Selection Special will also include one-on-one interviews with selected Big Ten coaches.

The Big Ten Network’s post-season football coverage continues on Thursdays in December with Bowl Preview Shows beginning Dec. 9. Each week, the Big Ten Network studio crew will offer an in-depth look at the Big Ten bowl matchups, examine the top storylines and provide updates as each team makes its bowl preparations.

For the first time since the 2000 season, three teams ended the year atop the Big Ten standings. Michigan State, Ohio State and Wisconsin each finished 7-1 in conference play and 11-1 overall to earn a share of the 2010 Big Ten Championship and the chance to earn the league’s automatic bid to the Bowl Championship Series (BCS).
Overall, eight Big Ten teams earned bowl eligibility, matching the conference record for most bowl berths in a single season. In addition to the Big Ten tri-champions, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Northwestern and Penn State will receive post-season invitations.

The Big Ten’s eight bowl tie-ins include the following:

Rose Bowl/BCS Automatic Bid | Jan. 1 | Pasadena, Calif.
Capital One Bowl | Jan. 1 | Orlando, Fla.
Outback Bowl | Jan. 1 | Tampa, Fla.
Gator Bowl | Jan. 1 | Jacksonville, Fla.
Insight Bowl | Dec. 28 | Tempe, Ariz.
Texas Bowl | Dec. 29 | Houston, Texas
TicketCity Bowl | Jan. 1 | Dallas, Texas
