BBC Sport's 2009 Closing Wimbledon Montage

Now that Wimbledon is over and we can move on to other sporting events, I can go back and look at some of the moments of the recently past fortnight. This year’s tournament was quite fun to watch and yes, having found a way to watch the BBC for the entire two weeks was absolutely a joy without any of the silly tape delays. But let’s not rehash that issue.

Before the tournament began, I gave you a series of montages the BBC put together over the years as they closed their coverage of Wimbledon.

Here is the montage for this year’s tournament done to “When You’re Smiling” sung by the late, great Dean Martin. BBC “Today at Wimbledon” host John Inverdale takes us out.

And here’s an alternate version of the montage done to the Jackson 5.

Watching BBC’s coverage during Wimbledon is really the only way to go. I wish DirecTV could somehow offer it, but I’m sure ESPN2, NBC and Tennis Channel would object. Anyway, this concludes the Wimbledon posts for this year.
