SEC on CBS Unveils 2014 Football Schedule and New Personnel Additions

The most-watched college football package is back for its 14 consecutive season. The SEC on CBS returns with its season premiere on Saturday, September 13 with Georgia at South Carolina at 3:30 p.m. ET. CBS will air 16 regular season games over a 14 week span.

Uncle Verne Lundquist and Gary Danielson will return to call the games. Allie LaForce will join the SEC on CBS as the sideline reporter.

CBS SPORTS’ 2014 COLLEGE FOOTBALL SCHEDULE OFFERS TOP MATCH-UP OF SOUTHEASTERN CONFERENCE EACH WEEK

CBS Sports’ “SEC Game of the Week” Kicks Off with Georgia vs. South Carolina
on Saturday, September 13

CBS Sports kicks off its 14th consecutive season of national coverage of Southeastern Conference Football’s marquee game each week on Saturday, Sept. 13 (3:30-7:00 PM, ET) with Georgia vs. South Carolina. CBS Sports continues to be the exclusive national network broadcaster of SEC home football games, showcasing the top conference match-ups with the “SEC Game of the Week.”

The SEC ON CBS schedule features a total of 16 games during the network’s 14-week season, including two doubleheaders and the SEC Championship on Saturday, Dec. 6 (4:00 PM, ET).

Highlights of 2014 schedule include: (All Times ET)

September 13 — Georgia at South Carolina, 3:30 PM
October 11 — SEC Doubleheader, 12:00 NOON & 3:30 PM
November 1 — Florida vs. Georgia, 3:30 PM
November 8 — SEC Doubleheader, 3:30 PM & 8:00 PM
November 28 — Arkansas at Missouri, 2:30 PM
December 6 — SEC Championship, 4:00 PM

All other SEC Games of the Week are announced six-to-12 days prior to their broadcast date.

Verne Lundquist and Gary Danielson, along with Allie LaForce reporting, serve as CBS Sports’ lead college football announce team.

COLLEGE FOOTBALL TODAY, the Network’s pre-game, halftime and post-game studio show, is broadcast in the half-hour format throughout the season, providing highlights and analysis of all the day’s action.

Craig Silver serves as coordinating producer and Steve Milton is the lead director for the Network’s college football broadcasts.  Harold Bryant is Executive Producer and Vice President, Production, CBS Sports.

And CBS has announced new additions to the SEC team this year. Allie LaForce was mentioned earlier and she replaces Tracy Wolfson who becomes the main sideline reporter on the NFL on CBS and Thursday Night Football.

Becoming the new studio host for College Football Today will be Adam Zucker. He was seen on the main CBS mothership over the last few seasons when Tim Brando was on play-by-play. Now with Brando gone from CBS, Zucker takes over as studio host full-time.

Adam Zucker Named Studio Host of COLLEGE FOOTBALL TODAY
Allie LaForce Joins as Lead College Football Reporter

CBS Sports has added Adam Zucker and Allie LaForce to its college football broadcast team. Zucker has been named host of COLLEGE FOOTBALL TODAY, the Network’s pre-game, halftime and post-game studio show. LaForce joins as lead college football reporter, teaming with Verne Lundquist and Gary Danielson on the “SEC Game of the Week.”  The announcement was made this week by Sean McManus, Chairman, CBS Sports.

“Both Adam and Allie represent the next, great generation of sports broadcasters,” said McManus. “We are extremely excited about the future of our college football coverage from the studio to the sidelines, and look for both to contribute to its continued and storied success.”

Zucker joins analysts Brian Jones and Spencer Tillman on COLLEGE FOOTBALL TODAY, which airs on Saturdays from 3:00-3:30 PM, ET throughout college football season. He has been lead anchor for CBS Sports Network hosting myriad studio shows including INSIDE COLLEGE FOOTBALL and INSIDE COLLEGE BASKETBALL. Zucker joined CBS Sports Network in 2003 (then CSTV), shortly after its launch. He has been an Associated Press college football voter since 2012. In addition, Zucker has worked as anchor for CBS Sports’ college football studio show, COLLEGE FOOTBALL TODAY, as well as the network’s college basketball and CBS Sports Desk studio shows.

LaForce joins as lead college football reporter working with Lundquist and Danielson calling the “SEC Game of the Week” as well as the Army-Navy game.  LaForce joined CBS Sports in 2012. She currently hosts the late night show LEAD OFF on CBS Sports Network and serves as a college basketball sideline reporter, including working the NCAA Tournament the last two years. LaForce also was part of CBS Sports Network’s NFL pre-game studio show, THAT OTHER PREGAME SHOW, last year.
