CBS Unveils Announcing Assignments for NFL Playoffs; All Games to be Streamed Online

This coming from the outstanding men and women at CBS Sports. We have the announcing assignments for the American Football Conference side of the NFL Playoffs, all of which will air on CBS. Starting this weekend, Jim Nantz and Phil Simms will be working the bulk of the games, calling three out of four games on the Tiffany Network. Greg Gumbel and Dan Dierdorf will work one Divisional Playoff game next weekend.

In addition, CBS is bringing back sideline reporters for the playoffs for the first time since dropping them after the 2005 season. Tracy Wolfson and Allie LaForce will be working on games to report on any breaking news occurring on the field.

Nantz, Simms and Wolfson will form on team and will be in Ohio this Sunday for the San Diego Chargers- Cincinnati Bengals AFC Wild Card Playoff game at 1 p.m. ET. They’ll then head to Denver next Sunday for the game hosted by the Broncos at 4:40 p.m. ET. And they will also work the AFC Championship Game on January 19 at 3 p.m. ET.

Gumbel, Dierdorf and LaForce will be in Foxboro on Saturday, January 11 for the primetime game hosted by the New England Patriots.

And CBS announces that all of its playoff games will be streamed online at its CBSSports.com website and can be accessed via desktop computers, laptops and tablets. Verizon Wireless subscribers can see CBS’ games on the NFL Mobile app. It marks the first time that CBS will make all of its postseason games available online. It only streamed Super Bowl XLVII last year.

THE NFL ON CBS continues its 54th year broadcasting the NFL with coverage of the 2014 American Football Conference Playoffs with the national broadcast of Wild Card Playoff Game #2 on Sunday, Jan. 5 (1:00 PM, ET) live on the CBS Television Network. The No. 6-seeded San Diego Chargers (9-7) visit the AFC North Champions and No. 3-seeded Cincinnati Bengals (11-5). THE NFL ON CBS’s coverage begins with THE NFL TODAY, the Network’s studio show (12:00 Noon-1:00 PM, ET), live from the CBS Broadcast Center in New York City.

THE NFL ON CBS lead announce team of Jim Nantz and Phil Simms call the action, along with Tracy Wolfson reporting, live from the Chargers-Bengals game at Paul Brown Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio. Lance Barrow is the coordinating producer and lead game producer and Mike Arnold is the lead game director.
