Sunday Night Football Heads to DC

On Sunday, NBC airs the less-than-attractive New York Football Giants at DC NFL Matchup. Matt Yoder at Awful Announcing explains why the game wasn’t flexed out despite the records of both teams.

Another factor was NBC’s Thanksgiving Night game in Baltimore. The Sunday Night Football production truck could easily drive the 32½ miles from Baltimore to the Stadium Formerly Known as Jack Kent Cooke in Landover, MD in less than an hour to set up for Sunday’s game.

Al Michaels doesn’t have to take his usual private plane ride from Baltimore to DC. He, Cris Collinsworth and Michele Tafoya will be on hand to call the game.

Bob Costas will be on-site in Landover and he’ll be joined by former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward for Football Night in America as well as the halftime show.

Here’s the NBC preview for Sunday.
