It appears that Bob Costas has retired from hosting the Closing Ceremony. While he hosted the Vancouver Closing Ceremony, Costas has mainly allowed Dan Hicks and Mary Carillo do the heavy lifting while he’s been in the studio. The Holy Diminutive One will be back in the studio once again for Sochi.
At the Fisht Olympic Stadium, the Sunday Night Football team of Al Michaels and Cris Collinsworth (?) will co-host and they’ll be joined by former USSR mouthpiece Vladimir Pozner who has been serving as an analyst and observer for NBC during the Olympics.
The Closing Ceremony will air on tape delay at 8 p.m. ET. It will be preceded by the Tonya and Nancy documentary starting at 7 p.m. ET.
For those who want to watch the Closing Ceremony live, it will be streamed on NBCOlympics.com and the NBC Sports Live Extra app at 11 a.m. ET.

Bob Costas to Anchor Studio Coverage on Final Night of XXII Olympic Winter Games
Olympic Primetime Coverage on NBC Begins at 7 p.m. ET with Nancy & Tonya DocumentarySOCHI, Russia – Feb. 22, 2014 – Sunday Night Football commentators Al Michaels and Cris Collinsworth, and Olympic correspondent Vladimir Pozner, will host NBC’s coverage of the Sochi Olympics Closing Ceremony tomorrow night, the final night of the XXII Olympic Winter Games from Sochi, Russia. Bob Costas will anchor NBC’s studio coverage.
The Closing Ceremony will include Russian pageantry and the parade of flags and athletes from countries participating in the Sochi Games. The ceremony culminates with the extinguishment of the Olympic flame.
In addition, the host feed’s coverage of the Closing Ceremony will be live streamed at 11 a.m. ET via “TV Everywhere” to authenticated cable, satellite and telco customers on NBCOlympics.com and the NBC Sports Live Extra app. The stream will contain natural sound, and as has been the case throughout the Games, the primetime show will not be streamed.
Immediately prior to the Closing Ceremony, NBC will begin its primetime coverage at 7 p.m. ET/PT with the documentary Nancy & Tonya. Costas will be joined in the studio by Nancy Kerrigan following the documentary.
In Nancy & Tonya, Mary Carillo looks back at the events surrounding the ladies’ figure skating competition at the 1994 Olympic Winter Games, one of the most dramatic events in Winter Olympics history.
