Time for some more links. As we get closer to baseball’s postseason, we’re getting closer to TBS’ extensive coverage of the playoffs. For the second straight year, TBS has tapped Bon Jovi to promote the League Division Series. I hope to have some more information about TBS’ coverage sometime tomorrow and when I do, I’ll pass it along.

For now, I can tell you TBS will pick up another Red Sox game for its Sunday coverage, this one will be against the Blue Jays at 1 p.m. and before that at 12:30 p.m., the network have a special edition of “MLB on Deck” hosted by Ernie Johnson with studio analysts Cal Ripken, Jr., Dennis Eckersley of NESN and Harold Reynolds of MLB.com and SNY. I wanted to give you that programming note for Sunday.

Bruce Allen of Boston Sports Media Watch says Boston Globe writers can appear on Comcast SportsNet New England’s Sports Tonight program as the Herald’s sponsorship of the program expired this week. Bruce also discusses Curt Schilling ripping Manny Ramirez on WEEI.

We get the Los Angeles perspective of Schilling from Tom Hoffarth of the Daily News.

Neil Best of Newsday says YES will show three CenterStage programs opposite ESPN’s broadcast of the last game at Yankee Stadium on Sunday night.

The great Darren Rovell of CNBC has the ticket prices for the final series at Yankee Stadium this weekend.

Ken Schott of the Schenectady Gazette says YES and WWOR have signed a new three year agreement for Yankees games.

Laura Nachman says CBS’ #1 NFL team, Jim Nantz and Phil Simms, has been assigned to the Steelers-Eagles game on Sunday.

The Associated Press has comments made by the NFL’s supervisor of officials, Mike Pereira on the NFL Network regarding referee Ed Hochuli’s blown call in the Chargers-Broncos game last Sunday.

In the DC Examiner, Jim Williams writes that Navy has reupped with CBS College Sports through the 2017-18 season. This includes all Navy-hosted games against Notre Dame.

Christopher Byrne of the Eye on Sports Media blog says Raycom is getting screwed by ESPN again.

Tim Stephens of the Orlando Sentinel says the local ABC affiliate will air the Miami-Texas A&M game on Saturday after originally being assigned Notre Dame-Michigan State.

R. Thomas Umstead of Multichannel News says the 20th anniversary Atlanta Football Classic will aired nationally for the first time on Versus later this month.

Umstead also writes that Spike TV will re-air two UFC PPV events leading up to its own airing of UFC 89 in October.

Todd Spangler of Multichannel writes that Verizon FiOS TV customers and Verizon FiOS TV customers only will get interactive fantasy sports information through ESPN.

Tom Van Riper of Forbes Magazine says Michael Phelps is almost irrelevant.

The Portland (OR) Business Journal tells us that the Trail Blazers will air 76 games on local TV.
