NBC Upfronts Wrap Up

Virginia Heffernan of the New York Times gives her wrap up of the NBC Upfronts today.

She writes:

Maybe the networks have gotten religion, and maybe they’re thinking this Internet might actually go somewhere. Better late than never.

Also from the Times, TV Writer Extraordinaire Bill Carter and Jacques Steinberg give their takes on the new ABC lineup and also give this review of the new NBC Primetime lineup which only has four hours of new shows:

NBC made it own schedule public yesterday, and it was, by its executive’s admission, a conservative lineup with only four new hours set for the fall. Kevin Reilly, the president of NBC Entertainment, said that adding more new series now was unwise because it is so difficult to market new shows in the fall.

ABC meets the advertisers tomorrow. Should be fun.
