REPORT: Michael Strahan to Join Good Morning America

In the wake of Josh Elliott leaving ABC’s Good Morning America, the network is reloading. Michael Strahan of Fox NFL Sunday and Live with Kelly and Michael will be joining the show.

CNN’s Brian Stelter reports that the Strahan’move could be officially announced later this week. He would not replace anyone and once he’s finished with his GMA duties, it will be back to Live with Kelly and Michael at 9 a.m. ET on various stations across the country.

It’s not known if this move was done as Elliott’s contract negotiations with ABC were stalling or if it was totally unrelated.

As for Strahan, it’s expected that he will continue to work on Fox NFL Sunday, but he also adds a third show to his plate.

We’ll continue to monitor the story.

UPDATE, 04/02/14, 9:45 a.m.: Strahan confirmed during Live with Kelly and Michael that he will indeed be joining Good Morning America, but stressed that “Live” will be his “number 1 priority.”
